IHTC-13 took place in Sydney, Australia in August 2006. A detailed report
may be found on another page of this site. By all accounts it was
a technical, social and touristic success.
I wish to express my great gratitude to my colleagues on the Organising Committee:
Eddie Leonardi (conference secretary),
Brian Milton (International Scientific Committee Chair), John Reizes (Treasurer)
and Peter May, as well as all
the members of the ISC who were responsible for the reviewing of papers. Of course I
also thank the authors of invited and contributed papers, and participants in
discussion panels; they are the raison d'être for the conference!
The International Heat Transfer Conferences are the major conferences for the
heat and mass transfer community, at which upwards of 1000 delegates from around
the world gather every four years to advance their science. We were proud to host the
first to be held in the Southern Hemisphere. We now look forward to
the next conferences in the series, which will be in Washington DC in 2010 and Kyoto
in 2014. I wish Professors Avram Bar-Cohen and Hideo Yoshida respectively, great success. |
